AI-generated search responses have created a new set of marketing labels and promises. A business may hear that it needs a special content format, a large batch of new articles, or a guaranteed method for appearing in answers. Before buying that promise, ask what the work actually involves and what the provider can demonstrate.
A useful starting point is still a website that explains the business accurately and gives people information they cannot get from a generic description.
Answer the questions customers actually bring
Use sales conversations and support questions to identify uncertainty. Explain who a service suits, what is included, what it does not cover, and what a customer should prepare. Keep important information available as readable page content rather than placing the whole explanation inside an image.
Specificity matters because it helps a person evaluate the answer. A documented process, an approved example, or a clear explanation of a limitation adds substance. Repeating a widely available answer with different adjectives adds less.
Be careful with AI content at scale
Google's guidance on generative AI emphasizes value for users and warns against producing many pages without adding value. The relevant question is not simply whether software participated. It is whether the resulting content is accurate, helpful, and appropriate for the intended audience.
Keep a person responsible for the facts and the purpose of each page. Review sources, remove unsupported claims, and avoid inventing experts, experiences, or customer stories. Publishing volume is not a substitute for editorial judgment.
Ask for evidence and realistic measurement
A provider should distinguish work it can control from visibility it cannot guarantee. It can improve content clarity, technical access, and consistency. It cannot responsibly promise that a particular answer system will mention your company every time a user asks a related question.
Review observable traffic and inquiries alongside any visibility sampling. Explain how samples were collected and what they omit. For a small business, the practical goal remains useful discovery followed by a clear customer experience, regardless of whether the visitor arrives through a conventional result, a generated answer, or a recommendation from another person.
